Our Success Stories
Pure Water was created with the goal of improving water quality for the people and ecosystems that depend on it. Our goal is always to offer tailored engineered solutions for diverse freshwater sources across Western Canada.
Swan Lake is a shallow, eutrophic urban lake in British Columbia that experiences recurring harmful algal blooms and seasonal declines in water quality.
A baseline methane-emissions monitoring program was initiated in 2025, followed by the installation of a full-scale hypolimnetic oxygenation system in 2026. The system is designed to restore dissolved oxygen, reduce internal nutrient loading, and improve overall lake health. The system at Swan lake is one of the Lake Restoration Technologies we often recommend and work on.
Quamichan Lake - 2026
At Quamichan Lake, field-scale limnocorral trials are evaluating how oxygenation and phosphorus-binding treatments can reduce internal nutrient loading and improve water quality.
The Quamichan Project is one of PWE’s applied research project to quantify the effect of hypolimnetic oxygenation and test the limitations of this technology in regards to long term lake water quality improvements.

The work done at Swíltcha was started in association with the Ts’elxweyeqw Tribe Management Ltd. to develop a comprehensive Feasibility Study for Swíltcha (Cultus Lake), British Columbia.
Lambton College - 2026
Pure Water is collaborating with Lambton College on a controlled bench-scale microcosm study about methane reduction systems for industrial wastewater sources.

Elk Lake - 2026
Pure Water is collaborating with the CRD on the aeration system for algae bloom and phosphorus remediation at Elk Lake. This project is part of the System Operation and Maintenance Services we offer.
